Notell Motel

                          Presents:

The Red Herring Motel Orch

Oldies to satisfy the soul. The cheerful rollicking classic 50s Rock'n'Roll, Rhythm and Blues, selected Motown classics, and who knows what "real Oldies" from the 20s, 30s, and Big Band Swing era given the Rock'n'Roll treatment. Authentic renditions played by musicians who were there, with all the zip and energy you remember. The younger generation will groove the roof, but the older generation will be pleased that we won't batter their heads with earsplitting towers of loudspeakers.

Instrumentation:

The band consists of:

2 saxophones, electric guitar (lead, backup vocals), electric bass (lead, backup vocals, including many of the old standards), keyboard, drums (lead, backup vocals), and female vocalist.

The band can perform with a smaller group--2 saxophones, keyboard, bass (lead vocal) and drums; this somewhat reduces its overall flexibility and the number of tunes from the list it can play, but it still has plenty of power to spark a joyful evening in most situations.

Repertoire:

[50s] [60s] [Motown] [Rhythm 'n' Blues] [70s, Misc.] [Country & Western]

(This list is constantly developing. At any time, our ability to play some of the tunes in any section may depend on the availability for the engagement of all regular personnel.)
